Reminder: Learn how we can get more done faster and cheaper!

As noted in our last post, Traffic Violence Rapid Response is hosting a teach-in this coming Wednesday on how Oakland's rules for awarding contracts is hampering efforts by OakDOT to make our streets safer, wasting staff time, costing much more, and delaying both the start and completion of projects. (See HERE for the original post.)

There is growing interest in improving the situation, and traffic safety advocates can play an important role in achieving success. And we need your help!

There are smart reforms available that will make Oakland a safer, fairer, and more beautiful city that delivers for its residents and restores trust in local government, without giving up the positive social benefits we all want.

Attend this teach-in to learn what you need to know to organize and advocate effectively for a more productive approach. Join with other advocates and interested folks for a great conversation about achieving our goals together.

Wednesday, June 25th at 7PM at Temescal Works, 490 43rd Street, in Oakland
